ESI Motor Control Platforms

ESI’s motor controls are the foundation of every motorized installation, allowing the ability to deliver results to the end-­user. ESI offers three distinct motor control platforms, each with their own application and available input devices:

RP

• ESI RP (Remotely Programmable) motor controls can be programmed to respond to commands from various RP input devices and/or automation systems.

RQ

• ESI RQ (Remotely Query-­able) motor controls support all RP programming and functionality, but offer bi-­directional communication possibilities to connected automation system(s). This feedback to the connected systems opens new opportunities for control aesthetics, security and remote access.

Z-Wave™

• ESI Z-Wave enabled motor controls allow for simple integration of motorized products into Z-­Wave wireless home control systems.

ESI Automation Partnership Opportunities

Manufacturers of automation equipment who support the simple integration of ESI components into projects give end-­users the ultimate control they desire. By teaming up with ESI, automation partners have access to the top companies within specialized industries including, motorized window coverings, projection screens, retractable awnings, rolling shutters, and exterior solar protection products. Manufacturers, including Draper, Da-Lite, Vutec, Hunter Douglas, and many others, use ESI controls. Supporting ESI protocols will allow for easier implementations by your dealers in installations where your devices are currently used alongside motorized products.

Logo Usage

A partnership with ESI would be mutually beneficial. As a partner, your company will be listed on our website as a company that supports interfacing to our system with a direct link to your company’s webpage. On the partnership agreement, please state that you authorize ESI to use your logo.

Maintaining Device Drivers/Modules

We ask that our automation partners maintain up-­to-­date drivers for as many ESI protocols as feasible (RP, RQ and Z-­Wave) to ensure that your integrators have little difficulty locating the appropriate support material for any project. ESI is available to assist with driver development.

Development Loaner Equipment Policy

Upon submission of the ESI Partnership Agreement Form, ESI will forward, if requested, an equipment loaner package for development and testing compliance of device drivers.

Due to ongoing product feature development it is advised that equipment be returned to ESI after module development completion. New equipment will be provided as future firmware releases are launched and updates to drivers are needed.

Testing of Z-­Wave devices generally requires a motorized demo product be provided to our partners. These loaners are billable if not returned to ESI within 90 days.
